How Membership Works
A clear process from application to membership status.
Submit Your Application
Complete the online form with accurate personal, educational, and contact information.
Verification and Review
Your application is forwarded to the governing body for eligibility verification and a membership decision.
Membership Status
Your application is provisional while pending. Approval, rejection, and any deemed-membership provision are governed by the Association's valid rules.
Membership Year and Renewal
TSA Delhi follows a fixed annual membership cycle designed around the usual academic intake and schedules of colleges and universities. Your membership validity is determined by this calendar, not by your individual application or approval date.
Our Fixed Membership Cycle
1 August – 31 July
Every membership year begins on 1 August and ends on 31 July of the following year. Membership is valid only until 31 July of the applicable cycle. It does not provide 365 days of validity from the date you join.
Membership Validity
Whether you join in August, February, or even July, your membership expires on 31 July of that membership cycle. Joining late in the cycle does not extend your membership into the following year.
Renew for the Next Year
If you wish to continue as a member, you can renew your membership for the next cycle. Renewal is voluntary, and you may apply again in a subsequent membership year in accordance with the Association's applicable rules.
Examples: How Membership Validity Works
| Date You Join | Applicable Membership Cycle | Membership Expires | Next Renewal Cycle |
|---|---|---|---|
| 10 September 2026 | 1 August 2026 – 31 July 2027 | 31 July 2027 | From 1 August 2027 |
| 15 February 2027 | 1 August 2026 – 31 July 2027 | 31 July 2027 | From 1 August 2027 |
| 20 July 2027 | 1 August 2026 – 31 July 2027 | 31 July 2027 | From 1 August 2027 |
| 10 September 2027 | 1 August 2027 – 31 July 2028 | 31 July 2028 | From 1 August 2028 |
These examples assume membership becomes effective within the applicable cycle under the Association's membership procedure. Submission of an application alone does not necessarily establish membership.
Why Do We Follow This Calendar?
This fixed membership cycle is an administrative arrangement adopted for TSA Delhi's convenience and to align more closely with the usual academic intake schedules of colleges and universities, many of which begin around August. It is not intended to penalise members who join later in the year. As a result, someone joining in July may need to renew soon after the membership year ends, while someone joining in September will ordinarily remain a member until the following 31 July.
No Membership or Renewal Fee
TSA Delhi does not charge a registration fee for submitting a membership application or a renewal fee for renewing membership under this policy. You are free to apply or renew if you wish to participate in the Association, subject to the applicable membership rules.
